With deep gratitude to ke Akua (Divine) for guidance and love. Introduction Kaleo Ching Kaleo was born and raised in Hawai'i. From his mother (from Pahala near Kilauea, Big Island) and his father (from Kalihi Palama, O'ahu) he and his brothers and sister learned to cultivate and cherish the spirit of aloha. Kaleo received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (University of Hawai'i), a Master's in Art (University of New Mexico), and a Fine Art Lithographer Certificate (Tamarind Institute). He is a Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage therapist, Licensed Acupressure Massage Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. He is a practitioner of Tai Chi and Chi Kung (35 years) and teaches Chi Kung and Lomi massage classes at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley. In his private practice (East Bay), he integrates applied Chi Kung with Hawaiian Lomilomi massage and acupressure with hypnotherapy. bodywork

Elise has a BS Degree in Nursing, a Master's
Degree in English (Ball State University), and a Master's Degree in Transpersonal Psychology (John F Kennedy University). She is
a Certified Acupressure Massage Therapist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. For 25 years, she worked as an RN in the San Francisco County Jail. Elise is a published and an award-winning poet, a practitioner of hatha yoga and Chi Kung (25 years), and a lover of the vanishing wild beyond the edge of the road.
As Teachers, Kaleo and Elise have developed a process that totally engages the BodyMindSpirit. This inner
alchemical process entices one to enter into the subconscious realm of the body through Chi Kung and hypnotherapy/guided imagery, then to express its deep wisdom through creative art forms.
The process promotes self awareness, empowerment, and the transformation of self and community. They presently teach in the Bay Area at John F. Kennedy University (Arts and Consciousness), Wisdom University, Luminous Body, Integral School of Energy Medicine, and California Institute of Integral Studies (Public Programs), LucasFilms, and Acalanes Adult Ed.
They also have extensive experience teaching for Chi Nei Tsang Institute ("Fusion Chi Kung and Maskmaking" workshops with Gilles
Marin); the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Palo Alto; Naropa University-Oakland; New College of California; Desarrollo Transpersonal Instituto Universitario, Puebla, Mexico; the San Francisco County Jails (Haight Ashbury Free Clinic Jail Psychiatric Services and California Arts Council); the University of Creation Spirituality; as well as nationally and internationally. As Artist and Poet they exhibit together (e.g., John F. Kennedy University Gallery; Reno Arts Commission; California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco; Euphrat Museum, Cupertino; Korean Art Center, Los Angeles; Oakland Museum; Rising Sun, Houston; etc.). Faces of Your Soul: Rituals in Art, Maskmaking, and Guided Imagery with Ancestors, Spirit Guides, and Totem Animals by Elise and Kaleo (North Atlantic Books, 2006) Kaleo received a Bay Guardian GOLDIE Award for "outstanding local discovery" in 1991. Among his commissioned masks are those of author Maxine Hong Kingston, artist Susan Seddon Boulet, Kellogg Foundation CEO Russ Mawby, and yogi Rodney Yee.
